Interpretation of 'The Old Man and the Sea'

The Old Man and the Sea as an allegory
While reading the word ‘allegory’ at that time first I have one question what is an allegory? As per my opinion, allegory means a story with two meanings, a literal meaning and a symbolic meaning. ‘The Old Man and the Sea’ is an allegory. It denotes upper as well as hidden meaning of the situation in the novella. When the reader reads at that time he feels that the novella presents the struggle of the protagonist against suffering and unknown happenings of life.
In our society, the person, who is master in typing the material on computer he uses his artistic skill to prepare perfect presentation. This simply means that the person is well-skilled about typing and he can make best presentation. If I take the hidden meaning, the person is knowledgeable but to make best presentation he struggles against his skill. He controls his art because he fears for defeat in the life likewise in the novella, Santiago (old man) who is well-skilled person for fishing. He tries his best to catch the Marlin. At one side he uses his power but another side; he struggles against all opposition and dangers to achieve success. Santiago declares,
“But Man is not made for defeat; a man can be destroyed but not defeated.”
That simply means, Santiago while catching the Marlin he controls his own art because he is worried about his failure as his experiences of the past.
So, in my conclusion I can say that “The Old Man and The Sea” is an allegory because the skill of Santiago turns ‘struggle’ for him. The skill and struggle both words conveys the meaning of allegory for this novella.

what is campus recruitments?

                   What is Campus Recruitment?
Campus recruitment refers to any effort made by prospective employers to recruit students from their college campuses, usually prior to graduation. Employers use campus recruitment to attract students for a variety of different positions, both as interns and as full-time employees. In some cases, recruitment takes the form of small events sponsored by one or a few industry representatives. In other cases, the college and industry collaborate to arrange campus-wide job fairs that attract many potential employers. Graduates in certain fields, especially technical fields, are in short supply in 2011. Potential employers use this type of recruiting to attract the best and brightest. Students at College with excellent reputations in certain fields are in particularly high demand, and recruiting efforts at these colleges are frequently very intense.
Recruiters target students who are about to graduate, but they are also interested in connecting with advanced undergraduates and graduate students who have at least one year of college remaining, as these students are often sought after as interns. Internships are useful for students because they provide experience in the real world and useful contacts. They benefit employers too, providing both inexpensive skilled labor and offering insight into which students to recruit for permanent employment. In good years, recruiters fight for the attention of promising candidates. In lean years, the opposite is true, and recruiters select only the most promising of candidates.
Campus recruitment culminates in a formal interview process, and often colleges have facilities where employers can interview students. Students may well undergo the entire interview and engaging process before receiving their diplomas, particularly in years where the demand for new graduates outpaces supply, and fortunate students will even have job offers before graduation.
v Benefits of Campus Recruitment –
- Campus Recruitment proves to be beneficial for both parties.
- Companies get the opportunity to choose from and select the best talent in a short span of time.
- Companies end up saving a lot of time and efforts that go in advertising vacancies, screening and eventually selecting applicants for employment.
- College students who are just passing out get the opportunity to present themselves to some of the best Companies within their industry of interest. Landing a job offer while still in college and joining just after graduating is definitely what all students dream of!

What is Literature?

What is Literature?
As per my view, Literature is those oral and written works which address in significant ways universal elements of what it means to be human becauseLiterature is an artistic expression of life”.  Good literatures endures because it demonstrates craft and artistry and has the power to raise questions, provide fresh points of view, and expand the understanding of self and the world, stimulate the imagination, and renew the spirit. Although it is primarily print-based, literature may be experienced through a variety of media, too.
Literature study focuses on the personal, cultural and historical interpretations as well as artistic analysis of a broad range of works. It narrates the otherwise unnoticed things and experiences artistically. It makes reader one with the subject in question. It changes our perception of it that moment onwards. It brings the higher and nobler and eternal reality to the reader. In that way, it makes the reader nobler and more sensible people. If one reads Keats’s “Ode on a Grecian Urn”, is it possible to him/her not to feel the eternal quality (i.e. of love, joy, or anything) when he/she come across a beautiful painting? Literature dispels the “maya” (allusion) of this worldly life and let the inner light brighten your life and makes you simpler and ethereal. The reader surely gets the divine pleasure with it. As the great literature has universality, he can get the absolute truth by reading it.
v Conclusion: Understanding the past is very much needed to the understanding of the present and the future as well. So, by reading literature, we can understand what and how the past-lived-noble-souls felt about various situations and experiences and we can better face our situations and experiences. So, by reading literature, we can live nobler and happier by using the knowledge of the past.
